Congratulations to Ewa Łepecka, the winner of this year’s Weronika Migoń Foundation Award for Best Casting Director.  Ewa was honored for her exceptional work on the film "Utrata równowagi"/"Loss of Balance"!  On Monday, July 28th, we celebrated the 10th anniversary edition of the Weronika Migoń Award Gala at Kino Iluzjon in Warsaw - a night dedicated  to recognizing the vital role of casting in the filmmaking process. On April 18, the first in a series of regular meetings of the Guild with acting agency representatives took place. Actors are the heart of film and television production, and that’s why we feel inseparable from acting agents in our creative process. We will discuss important issues at future meetings to improve our cooperation. Much work ahead of us.

The Magic of Casting and its Disenchantment The first day of the Gdynia Industry events was dedicated to casting, i.e. casting, its process and the myths that have grown up around it. The main protagonists of the talk were casting directors – the artists involved in creating the human landscape in film For years, representatives of this profession have been fighting for its visibility and the recognition of their creative contribution to filmmaking. In June this year, the Polish Casting Directors Guild was established, and currently has 12 members, as Ewa Brodzka, its president, announced at the event. During the 47th Gdynia Film Festival, the Best Casting Award will be presented for the first time by the jury on Friday the 16th of September at the so-called Small Gala. In 2021, for the first time a casting director was awarded at the festival – the award for lifetime achievement went to Violetta Buhl. ... Magia castingu i jego odczarowanie Pierwszy dzień wydarzeń branżowych Gdynia Industry poświęcony był tworzeniu obsady, czyli castingowi, jego przebiegowi i mitom, jakie wokół niego narosły. Głównymi bohaterami rozmowy były reżyserki i reżyserzy castingu – artyści zajmujący się tworzeniem ludzkiego krajobrazu w filmie. Przedstawiciele i przedstawicielki tego zawodu od lat walczą o jego widoczność i docenienie swojego twórczego wkładu w dzieło filmowe. W czerwcu tego roku powstała Gildia Polskich Reżyserek i Reżyserów Castingu, która obecnie liczy 12 członków – jak podała podczas wydarzenia jej przewodnicząca Ewa Brodzka. Podczas 47. Festiwalu w Gdyni będzie przyznana po raz pierwszy nagroda za najlepszy casting – wręczy ją jury w piątek 16 września na tzw. Małej Gali. W 2021 roku po raz pierwszy na festiwalu przyznano nagrodę reżyserce castingu – za całokształt twórczości otrzymała ją Violetta Buhl....
